We ate, We Drank, It Was Scary!

This is the traditional feast of a dead guy we go out hunting for every year. We just find some guy hitch hiking along the road and "accidently" run over him with our car! We have spaghetti brains, chili stomach contents, garlic bread thighs, and you can guess what the meat balls are!

My Halloween village
Joe Plumber (aka Daryn) and Sarah Palin (Katie) showed up. Watch what you do with that plunger buddy!
We had a blast playing Rock Band 2. A great friend of mine, Jimmie Nelson, from high school came to the party. It was the first time I had seen him since we graduated. I found him on Facebook. He brought his wife, Kim who is so fun!
Michael was babysitting the kids downstairs but came up to rock out with everyone.L to R: Sherilyn, MJ, Jon, Kim
We reserrected my mom and dad for the party. This is the first time they have dressed up in 10 years!
This is my baby brother Matt and his wife Chalyn with my mom.
My good friend Melissa and her new Hubby Steve came.
Me as Dorothy holding my friends baby Ivory. Ryan was the lion, scarecrow, and tin man all in one but got hot fast and ditched the costume before I could get any pics.
This is my friend Heather and her little chubbers (Wilma and Pebbles). She is such a happy baby!

Other people that were there that I didn't get pictures of because stupid me was too stressed out to remember shooting them were PC and Mac (aka Denise & Denis Smith) who were my favorite costumes of the night!

Tricks and Treats

This year cousin Aidan was Batman so Abby just had to be a super hero too. I have always loved Wonder Woman so it seemed perfect for her. Since I have been swamped with painting and projects, I just bought costumes this year and used Michael's first Halloween costume (which is the first costume I ever made!) for Louisa.
Michael got home from practice just in time to hop in a picture and run to get ready.

Pumkins are gross inside

We carved our pumpkins tonight and Abby officially named them all "Jack". Aidan and Abby got to pick a face for their little pumpkins they got at the pumpkin patch. Abby said, "I want a mean face!" so I did my best. Michael picked out a pattern and did his entire pumpkin by himself start to finish. I even talked Ryan into carving a face on the one that looks scared of Michael's pumpkin. He said he can't carve pumpkins because the slimy texture and smell make him sick. Wimp. At least he did it! As for me, I did what every do-it-yourself woman would do and took a drill to mine!!! I love power tools.
Abby so proud of her mean faced Jack.
Their favorite part was pulling out all the slimy seeds inside.
They watched Uncle Jon very longingly as he stabbed the pumpkins to get the tops off.
Michael's took the longest but turned out the best.
Abby's lit up.
All 4 of ours
The entire gang combined with my brother's family's pumpkins.

I'll have a Beanie With That Scarf Please

I love my scarf so much I had to make a matching beanie so I taught myself how to do it. I'm willing to teach anyone that is willing to learn!
It's really quite fun.
By the way, that is Lu's hair in the back -- it is so long!!!

Little Lu and Mikey Too

My Michael

He is growing up so fast. He will be 12 in Dec.
Here is a picture Michael took of me. He is getting really interested in Photography now and as you can see he is quite the natural! I think he gets it from his mama!

Witches Night Out

For the second year in a row my sisters and I went to Gardner Village for Witches Night Out. We danced and laughed the night away and then went to the cemetery to get spooky pictures of our hot witch costumes! I had so much fun. I even had an old man tell me I was a hot witch! (I may be attracting the older crowd nowadays but at least I still got something!)
This is my infamous dancing face. Don't know why I do it, but whenever I dance I make this dumb face. No wonder I could never get a guy whenever I used to go dancing in my single days! Annie just had to get a picture of it so here it is in all its glory!
As soon as we got done taking pictures and drove away from the cemetery, a cop passed us and stopped in front of it. We were so lucky!!!

Chili Cook-off Champions! (and a trunk or treat)

Our ward had a trunk or treat Halloween party. They were having a chili cook off so Sherilyn and I decided to make chili for the first time and enter. I called my mother in law and got her recipe from her. Sherilyn and I were sitting at a table just talking while they were announcing the restults. When they announced our names for first place, our jaws dropped at the same time! We were so shocked! So we are now the current reining chili champions!

I had to ask someone to get a picture of us and it didn't turn out very clear and was dark so I just made it black and white!
Abby wearing what's left of her Wonder Woman costume. It got removed piece by piece as the night went on!

Pumpkin Patch and Cute Kids

This is the whole class. Miss Linda is their teacher.
Aidan found a huge pumpkin he loved and ran over to it and had to show Abby

All the children got to pick their very own pumpkin to take home.
Aidan and Abby with their prized pics of the morning.
(Aidan's color was itching him!)

Fashion Show

Yesterday Michael was playing with his sisters by dressing them up in play clothes and then sending them into the room to model their outfits. Michael was even humming music as they walked in. The final outfit made me start laughing and jump up and grab my camera. This is little Lu under all this stuff. If you look closely you can see her little foot poking out the bottom.

Unfortunately the outfit was a little too much for Lu to maneuver in and she fell backwards. She was so sad! Fashion show -- OVER.
