Birthday Present

So my sweet hubby has been watching my growing obsession with photography and for my birthday bought me a Nikon D8O with two VR lenses. I have been a little overwhelmed trying to figure it out but here are a couple shots so far. Keep in mind these are unedited. I am trying to get used to the camera before I try to tackle an editing program as well!
This is what my camera and one of the lenses looks like.

Yes, Abby is coming out of a doggy door holding watermelon. Don't ask.
My nephew Aidan loves cheetos!
Why does my daughter have to have a fascination with pushing buttons?
Michael begged me to take this picture of the baby snail. Yuck. Even baby snails aren't cute.
"Oh no you Di'nt!"
I still am having a hard time photographing Lu. She doesn't sit still and she always wants to touch the lens.
There you go! Touch the tree, not mommy's camera.

I am going to start photography classes at the University of Utah in September so hopefully my picture taking skills will drastically improve. Right now they just look like some guy bought his wife a professional camera and she doesn't have a clue!

That will be so much fun taking a class. Are you going to start your own little picture taking buisness? I have thought about it but don't know where to begin.

Very impressive, I love the last picture of her touching the tree. How great of you to take a class for yourself!
