Yesterday, I gave myself the biggest IDIOT award and here is why:
It started at 2 am when I finally finished making Abby's first day of school outfit since she was starting Kindergarten. Then, I woke up early and spent forever with Abby doing her first day of school homework which was to make a paper doll that looked like Abby. We went all out (when don't I) and sewed a matching outfit for her paper doll. Then daddy came home from work and we got Abby ready for her big day. Of course, there was a photo shoot!

I even made her school bag!

Here is the paper doll we made. Abby even helped me sew it!

She kept laughing and saying it was a "Mini Abby". (Ryan said it looked like a voo-doo doll!)

Here she is trying her hardest to make a "K" with her fingers!

You know it's a big occasion if I get in a picture even without make-up!
Here's where it gets good. We all got in the car and headed over to Abby's school where grandma took off work for and hour to meet us there. Abby went running to her classroom with all the excitement her little body could muster.

At this point we started to wonder why she was the only one standing there when school started in 5 minutes. We walked into the classroom and SURPRISE!!! Abby's teacher was standing there looking confused and said, "School doesn't start until tomorrow!" Abby was so disappointed. She went and hung up her bag anyway and refused to leave. Oh well, looks like yesterday was a dress rehearsal for today and we get to do it all over again!!

You poor thing!! I can't imagine all that work and getting there on the wrong day. I'm with you on getting the days mixed up. We have year round out hear and we go on and off track at funky times. I forget half the time. Ooops.
Love, your sewing skills. Inspiring....not quite enough for me to buy a sewing machine, so for now I will have to enjoy watching the creations you come up with.
