In My Footsteps

Yesterday when we were driving around my sweet little Abby said out of the blue, "Mommy, I used to want to be a ballerina when I grew up. Now when I grow up, I want to be a photogapher and take pictures just like you." My heart melted instantly. Yes, she left out the "r" in photographer, that wasn't a typo.

Today I had to do some product photography for a client and since Abby and I were both home sick, I decided to let her take the pictures. Of course I did all the settings but she pushed the button and was so proud. She kept saying, "That looks so good!"

Another cute thing Abby said this week,
"Mom, all the kids my age can't whistle. Here I am a weird little kid just sitting here and I can whistle. See? (Whistling sound)"

I love my Abby.

Christmas Card

I am the worst at doing Christmas cards. I always procrastinate to the last minute and then just don't send them out. Thanks to Steph who took the pictures and made the card for me, I got one done this year and I love it. Here it is, it's my favorite card ever. If you click on the picture it takes you to a gallery where you can see them larger.

Straight for a change

Abby has the curliest hair and I love it. The other day after bathing the girls, Abby said, "I want my hair to be straight like Louisa's". I decided to give it a try. I used my straightener and to straighten it this time. She looks so different to me!

It took us a while but we finally got the tree decorated last week. The girls LOVED it.

At first I didn't take pictures because Lu was just in a diaper but then I realized this is my life. Lu is always stripping and in a diaper most of the time. So please excuse the diaper, that's just my Lu.

Whenever Lu would put on an ornament she would jump up and down and say, " I did it! I did it! I dididididi did it!"

7 years

Seven years ago Ryan and I were married on Friday the 13th. The thing between us has always been that it is IMPOSSIBLE to surprise me! I always figure out what he is planning or what he is getting me. Last night, he completely surprised me for the first time and he did it by planning things I would have NEVER guessed. We went to the Jazz vs. Lakers game and then to see the movie Blind Side (one of the best I've seen) and then stayed the night at the Hotel Monoco. He even totally surprised me with my present! He knew I wanted a point and shoot camera to carry in my purse so he got me the Canon PowerShot SD980 IS. I know, shocker, I now own a Canon! Yep, he totally surprised me for the first time. He is so perfect for me.

Us at the game. I used my wide angle 14-24 to take the pictures of us.

I recognize this guy not because he's a great player, but because he's the creep who cheated on his wife.

Ryan and both love starlight mint ice cream so of course we got some to share!

I had more fun taking pictures of us than I did watching the game!

What did I miss?

Oh, just a bear on a ladder doing "YMCA".

That's it, the Jazz won.

Can't wait to see where the next 7 years take us hun. Love you.

Family Pictures

I came so close to not getting any family pictures done this year. I was too busy taking everyone else's. Thanks to my amazing friend, they got done. She made me do it and I am so happy she did because she took the most amazing family pictures I have EVER had!! Thanks Steph.

Lu did not smile in one single picture. Why am I not surprised?
