Mother's Prayer

I pray you'll be my eyes
And watch him as he goes
And help him to be wise
Help me to let go
Every mother's prayer
Should he lose his way
Lead him to a place
Guide him with your grace
To a place where he'll be safe

Today is my baby's first official day of 7th grade. Where did the time go? Yesterday he went to school for a half day so they could show all the new 7th graders around the school.

Look at how small he looks!

He was so excited about starting school and loved all his teachers.
This morning, he just didn't want to take pictures!

He didn't like my idea of holding up 7 fingers to show he's in 7th grade. He's already too cool for mom.

Can you believe his feet are now bigger than mine?????

His Grandma Jo took him shopping and bought him a new outfit for school. He wore the shirt and shorts yesterday to orientation and today he wore the cool shoes and backpack she bought him.

This is when I dropped him off and he's saying, "Only one picture mom."

Today, he doesn't look so small anymore. He just walked away and didn't even look back. Probably best so he didn't see me crying. I love you Michael. No mother could be any more proud of her son than I am of you.

Lu's First Haircut

I tried to hold out until her 2nd birthday in July but enough is enough! You may have seen in pics like this one:
How she twirls her hair around her pacifier when she is sucking it. This has made life miserable for me since an hour after washing her hair, it already looks nappy and gross so I decided to just chop it! Look how long it was!

The first cut! We ended up taking off two more inches than this.

She was happy with as long as she had her balloon and a sucker in hand!

Abby was a HUGE help blowing bubbles for her!
When we got in the car and started driving home, I looked back to see Lu wrapping her hair in her pacifier STILL!!! So I immediately turned the car around and went right back in and had them take off another inch:

The FINAL length! It is soooo nice to have her hair look cute all day! Now why didn't I do this sooner?

My best Mother's Day EVER!!!

This Mother's Day was so perfect! Ryan was so sweet and planned a great day for me. He cleaned out my car. (If you saw my car you would know how sweet that was!) Later that day, we drove up to Salt Lake and Ryan took us to this secret park in Salt Lake not many people know about. Years ago there was a man who had a huge backyard and made tonz of sculptures out of rocks that depict parts of the scriptures. He also carved scripture into stones as well. When he died, people started sneaking onto the property and vandalizing the statues. Finally a group of people came in and bought up the land in order to preserve it. It is now a mini park tucked away behind some homes and I have to say it was so neat to visit and the kids love it. It is called "Gilgal Garden". In case you ever want to visit yourself, the first picture has the address.
